By the title you can see I’m gonna be a little critical of Mr. Denny Hamlin, but not about how the man races. I just watched him pour his heart out to win at Homestead and finish a heart breaking third place. On any normal race weekend that would’ve been a good finish but it’s playoff time baby! Denny needs a win to get to the final four, but that’s not what I want to talk about.
What I want to talk about is this, why doesn’t he drive for his own team? I feel like that makes him a half-hearted owner. Sure, he’s taking a risk as an owner but he’s not putting it all on the line. He’s not there, on the track, as the team leader, proving to his younger drivers week in and week out how to win. To me it shows a lack of commitment to 23XI.
If Denny wants 23XI to be the best team in NASCAR he should leave JGR and put all his eggs in the 23XI basket.
It seems to be working for RFK with Brad Kaeslowski all in as an owner and driver.
Come on Denny! Take that plunge and drive 23XI right to the top! And while you’re at it go win a Championship for 23XI!
P.S. You’ll go down as one of the greats, Denny, no matter which team you finish with. Now, go win a title!
